As Academic Advisor, Ramey Guerra participates in the planning and delivery of academic advising services and programs that promote comprehensive educational opportunities for Art History, Design, Studio Art, and Visual Art Studies majors. She is responsible for understanding and interpreting the requirements and academic options in the specific area and in other campus departments to facilitate the student's pursuit of fields of interest. She advises students about the development of educational plan options and the resources available and works closely with students to provide information on course and degree options and University policies.
She responds to web, telephone, and written inquiries from current UT Austin students seeking to change major to or add a major in the Department's undergraduate programs in Art History, Design, Studio Art, and Visual Art Studies (please allow a 24 to 48 hour response time for reply email or a returned telephone message.)
Ramey graduated with a B.A. in Art History from Bryn Mawr College. She has several years of mentoring experience in Bryn Mawr College's peer counseling program and she wrote a senior thesis in Art History. Ramey lived with a host family and studied French in Bordeaux, France as part of a yearlong American Field Service program. She has an M.S. in Psychology, with a concentration in Counseling Theory, from Angelo State University. Ramey worked as a teaching assistant and student instructor in the Psychology Department at Angelo State University before returning to her hometown of Austin.
