Foster Robertson Foreman is an Assistant to the Director of the Visual Arts Center.

Foster earned a B.A. in English Literature at the University of Richmond (1963) and a M.A. in History of Art at the University of California, Berkeley (1966) with additional History of Art graduate work at Berkeley and overseas (1966–1970).

She has focused on Central Asian exchanges, East Asian landscape art, the sculpture of South and Southeast Asia (Kushan to post-Gupta), the history of garden design, and arts of the 19th – 20th centuries.

She has been Co-Editor of the Thorp Springs Press since 1971, Co-Owner of The Bois d'Arc Gallery and Brazos Book Shop on Red River Street at 8th (1978–1987), Assistant to the Director of the Laguna Gloria Art Museum (1986–1987), and Research Associate in the Visual Resources Collection, Art and Art History Department (1987–2009).
